It also is equipped with shiny alloy child-size brake levers, newly-developed one-piece foam saddle, TPR soft grips, and non-slip resin pedals with reflectors. Question:Can this bike be used as a balance bike at first, keep pedals off? I want my 4 yr old son to learn the hand brakes before he pedals.

Answer:Due to the way the bike is assembled you would not be able to keep the pedals off. The piece that the pedals screw into could possibly scrape your child's leg so I would say no it could not be used as a balance bike.
